So, it's September first... James and I are out of our apartment—well, mostly out, there are still a few things we need to take care of today. Our little house isn't completed yet, so we're not yet moved into there... During the weekend, with some help of our fabulous friends and their truck, we moved most of our stuff into storage, then last night we (and our kitties) checked into an extended stay hotel/apartment-like place—where we'll be staying for the next month. The kitties adjusted really quickly to the studio-apartment sized living quarters. Once we stopped moving things around, they came out from under the bed and did a little cautious exploring. Other than the occasional spook from an unfamiliar noise, they seem pretty comfortable now. I'm really surprised.
I've realized that even though we've slimmed down the amount of stuff we have, that we'll probably need to slim down a LOT more once we're in the little house. Seeing the small amount of stuff we brought with us to the temp apartment makes me realize that in a small space even a small amount of stuff can seem like a lot. But it's enough. We just brought the essentials with us. Makes me wonder how much of the storage stuff we'll actually need?
Today I'll be heading into work to get some time-sensitive stuff done, but then James, Moth and I will be continuing to empty out the remaining stuff left in the old place. I must say, I'm really happy to be out of there, and away from that landlord! I think the kitties are too.
